Men’s Basketball Take On Ashland in Back-to-Back Games

The Tiffin University men's basketball team will battle Ashland twice this week in GMAC action. The first game will be Feb. 2 at 4 pm followed by a trip to Ashland on Feb. 5 at 3 pm.

Dragon Details:

The Dragons went 1-1 last week with a win over Salem.

Morgan Taylor leads the team with 12.7 points shooting 46.5 percent from the field, and 39.1 percent from three-point range, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, and Trent Williams registers 11.6 points, shooting 35.8 percent from the field, and 31.5 percent from beyond the arc, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals. Tanner Johnson averages 11.3 points shooting 42.4 percent from the field, and 38.7 percent from three-point territory, 5.4 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and leads the team in blocked shots with nine.  

 

Scouting the Eagles:

The Eagles are on a five-game winning streak, beating Lake Erie and Villa Maria last week.

Ashland's offense is led by Aarion Thompson who is averaging 12.6 points shooting 58.2 percent from the field, 6.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 3.0 steals, and 11 blocks on the year, teammate Bo Furcron registers 11.8 points shooting 52.2 percent from the field, and 42.4 percent from three-point range, 4.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals, and Brandon Haraway scores 10.3 points shooting 38.9 percent from the field, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.5 steals.  

The Eagles lead the all-time series against the Dragons 36-6, with their last meeting coming on January 27, 2018 when the Eagles won 87-65.
