Men’s Basketball Embark on Florida Road Trip

The Tiffin University men's basketball team travels to Tampa, Florida where the team will face two non-conference opponents, starting with The University of Tampa on Friday, Dec. 17 for a 6 p.m. tip-off. Then, on Saturday, Dec. 18 the Dragons will face Eckerd for a 4 p.m. game time.

Dragon Details:

The Dragons went 2-1 last week with wins against Waynesburg and Carlow.

Tiffin's offense is led by Tanner Johnson who averages 12.3 points shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from beyond the arc, 5.3 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 0.6 blocks, Morgan Taylor scores 11.3 points shooting 39.7 percent from the field, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, and Dalaino Walker records 10.2 points shooting 37.1 percent from the field, 5.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.8 steals.

 

Scouting the Spartans:

The Spartans went 1-1 last week against conference opponent Lynn University.

Tampa's offense is led by Max Jones who averages 22.3 points shooting 45.5 percent from the field, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals, Derrick Felder registers 10.5 points shooting 36.2 percent from the field, 5.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.1 steals, and Martin Lakovic scores 9.1 points shooting 44.2 percent from the field, 7.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.

The all-time series between the two programs is tied at 1-1, with their last meeting coming on Dec. 19, 2015 when the Dragons won 103-99. 

 

Scouting the Tritons:

The Tritons went 0-2 last week against Sunshine State Conference opponents.  

Eckerd's offense is led by Grafals GianFranco who averages 17.1 points shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from three-point range, 5.2 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 1.9 blocks, Daniel Love registers 13.6 points shooting 34.1 percent from the field, 6.1 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 4.3 assists, and David Swedura scores 9.1 points shooting 36.5 percent from the field, 4.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.

The Tritons lead the all-time series against the Dragons 1-0, with their last meeting coming on Dec. 20, 2015 when the Tritons won 79-74.
