Men’s Basketball Travel to Lake Erie, Host Waynesburg and Carlow

The Tiffin University men's basketball team travels to conference foe Lake Erie on Wednesday, Dec. 8 with the game set to start at 5:30 p.m. Then, the Dragons host two non-conference opponents, Waynesburg on Saturday, Dec. 11 with a 3:00 p.m. tip-off, and Carlow on Sunday, Dec. 12 with a 1:00 p.m. game time.

Dragon Details:

The Dragons went 1-1 last week with a win against GMAC opponent Ohio Dominican.

Tiffin's offense is led by Tanner Johnson who averages 11.8 points shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from beyond the arc, 5.6 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 0.6 assists, Morgan Taylor scores 11.6 points shooting 37.0 percent from the field, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, and Dalaino Walker records 11.0 points shooting 39.3 percent from the field and 28.6 from three-point territory, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.8 steals.

 

Scouting the Storm:

The Storm went 0-2 last week against conference opponents Walsh and Malone.

Lake Erie's offense is led by Jordan Burton who averages 14.1 points shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from beyond the arc, 2.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.4 steals, Jonny Manning registers 11.7 points shooting 58.1 percent from the field, 6.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 1.3 blocks, and Caleb Piks scores 10.3 points shooting 54.8 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point territory, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.7 steals per game.

The Dragons lead the all-time series against the Storm 15-13, with their last meeting coming on Feb. 17, 2021 when the Storm won 77-72.  

 

Scouting the Jackets:

The Jackets went 2-0 last week against Grove City and Franciscan.

Waynesburg's offense is led by Matt Popeck who averages 19.4 points shooting 39.7 percent from the field and 30.2 percent from three-point range, 5.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.0 steals, Nijon Kirkman registers 11.3 points shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc, 10.6 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 0.7 assists, and 0.7 blocks, and Ryan Felberg scores 8.9 points shooting 35.2 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from long range, 1.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.4 steals per game.

This is the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

 

Scouting the Celtics:

Carlow is 1-8 so far this season and 0-3 in conference play.

The Celtics' offense is led by Marcus Millien who averages 14.3 points shooting 36.4 percent from the field, 4.3 rebounds, and 0.75 blocks, Riley Comforti registers 9.0 points shooting 45.5 percent from the field, 5.8 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.25 assists, and 1.0 blocks, and Nehemiah Brazil scores 8.5 points shooting 31.7 percent from the field, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.75 steals.

The Dragons lead the all-time series against the Celtics 3-0, with their last meeting coming on Nov. 23, 2018 when the Dragons won 142-81. This was Tom Church's first win as head coach.
