Men’s Basketball Falls 87-77 to Mo. St. Louis

The Tiffin University men's basketball team lost 87-77 to Missouri-St. Louis. 

The Dragons fall to 0-2 on the year, while the Tritons improve to 2-0.

The Dragons built up a lead early with a 13-4 run to lead 18-9 in the first seven minutes of play. The Tritons chipped away at the Dragons' lead, coming within three of Tiffin at 24-21, but Trent Williams scored five quick points to build up an eight-point lead. Tiffin kept their lead at the half 44-41.

The Tritons came out strong in the second half, going on a 14-5 run to lead 55-49. They kept their momentum going and were able to build up a 10-point lead over the Dragons. The Dragons put together a 7-2 run to come within four of the Tritons, but clutch free throws and strong defense allowed UMSL to build up a six-point lead. The Tritons held the lead the rest of the way in winning the game 87-77. 

Trent Williams led the Dragons with 19 points shooting 7-for-13 from the field and 5-for-8 from beyond the arc, with one rebound, one assist, and one steal, and Tanner Johnson tallied 15 points shooting 5-for-9 from the field, grabbed four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. 

Morgan Taylor got his first double-digit performance of the year for the Dragons with 13 points, three rebounds, and four assists, and Dalaino Walker scored 10 points shooting 5-for-9 from the field, had three rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
