Spencer Koch has joined the Tiffin University men's basketball coach staff.

Koch comes to Tiffin from Lincoln Trail College, where he spent five years as an assistant coach under head coach Luke Stuckey. While at Lincoln Trail, he was an integral part of recruiting, game scouting, and player development. During his time in Robinson, over 20 men's basketball players from Lincoln Trail went on to play at the 4-year level, including three Division 1 signees (Western Michigan, Denver, Evansville) the last two seasons. Six Statesmen Men's Basketball players during Koch's tenure made the All-Great Rivers Athletic Conference and All-Region XXIV team. In 2021, Koch's last season at Lincoln Trail, the Statesmen reached as high as 20th in the NJCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball rankings, which hasn't been done at the school since the early 2000s.

Koch is a 2016 graduate of IUPUI with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Business. He earned a master's degree in Athletic Coaching from Ball State University. While in college, Koch worked with Pacers Sports & Entertainment, where he was involved in game operations with the Indiana Pacers. He also worked in marketing at Indiana University Athletics.

The Bedford, Indiana native will assist head coach Tom Church in all aspects of the Tiffin Men's Basketball program, including recruiting, scouting, and skill development.

"I am very excited to join the Tiffin University Men's Basketball program as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach," said Koch. "Coach Church has had success everywhere he has been, and I believe he has the Tiffin men's basketball program headed in the right direction. I am excited to be part of the success moving forward. I can't wait to get to work."

"Spencer played a major role in our program's success during his 5 years at LTC. His ability to identify and recruit top talent that fit our system was vital. Spencer also has a great feel for the technical and tactical parts of the game which was also a great asset. Spencer will be a great addition to the Tiffin program as he is one of the top young coaches in the country," said Luke Stuckey.

"He brings a passion and work ethic with him that our players and entire staff will love.  He did an incredible job recruiting talented student-athletes at Lincoln Trail and I'm looking forward to him doing the same here at TU.  Coach Koch is one of the up-and-coming young coaches in our profession and I know he will be a perfect fit on our staff."
