The Tiffin University men's basketball team went 0-2 last week. The Dragons will host conference leaders Hillsdale on Wednesday, Feb. 24 for a 5:30 tip-off. On Saturday, Feb. 27 the team will host Kentucky Wesleyan on Senior Day.

Scouting the Dragons

The Dragons went 0-2 last week. Tiffin is ranked first in the conference in field goals made per game averaging 9.6 field goals per game. The Dragons are second in the conference in turnover margin averaging 3.33 fewer turnovers than their opponents.

Tiffin has three players in double figures: Trent Williams, Wesley Jordan, and Tanner Johnson.

Williams averages 13.0 points, shooting 38.9 percent from the field, 3.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 0.8 steals, teammate Jordan averages 11.7 points, shooting 57.6 percent from the field, 5.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 0.7 blocks, and Johnson averages 10.7 points shooting 39.2 from beyond the arc, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

 

Scouting the Chargers

The Chargers went 2-0 last week, extending their win streak to 14 games. 

The Chargers are led by conference leader Patrick Cartier who scores 19.8 points shooting 63.9 percent from the field, 6.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 0.9 steals, followed by Austen Yarian averaging 13.1 points shooting 44.3 percent from the field, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.7 blocks. Connor Hill averages 11.8 points shooting 50.3 percent from the field, 2.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.6 steals, and teammate Davis Larson averages 11.5 points shooting 53.7 percent from the field, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 0.6 steals. 

The Chargers lead the all-time series against the Dragons 27-6, with the last time the teams played occurring on January 16 when the Chargers won 66-54.  

 

Scouting the Panthers

The Panthers are 2-1 over their last three games with wins over Lake Erie and Ohio Dominican. Kentucky Wesleyan is second in the conference in defense holding their opponents to 65.8 points per game.  

The Panthers are led by Tre Cobbs who averages 16.8 points per game shooting 45.7 percent from beyond the arc, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, Zach Hopewell averages 13.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, and teammate Wyatt Battaile average 12.0 points shooting 41.7 percent from beyond the arc, 7.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.7 steals. 

The Panthers lead in the all-time series against the Dragons 10-1 with their last meeting coming Jan. 7, 2021, when Malone won 91-67.
