Men’s Basketball Falls to Lake Erie 77-72

The Tiffin University men's basketball team fell 77-72 against Lake Erie.

The Dragons were plagued with turnovers, turning it over 16 times in the game compared to the Storm's 11. The Storm scored 15 points off those turnovers compared to the Dragons' nine points off turnovers. 

The Storm improve to 2-10 overall and 2-10 in the conference, while the Dragons fall to 5-11 overall and 5-11 in the conference.  

The Storm started the game with a 10-2 run, but the Dragons countered with a 7-1 run to come within three of Lake Erie, 18-15. The Dragons had a late 6-0 surge in the last four minutes of the first half to end the half down 28-27. 

A Thomas Hickman layup and Trent Williams' three pointer to start the second half gave the Dragons a 32-28 lead. The Storm countered with a 9-0 run to lead 37-32. 

After trading buckets the Dragon built a four-point lead off a 6-0 run midway through the half. Lake Erie fought back and was able to take back the lead 58-55. 

With the game tied at 72-72 and 1:08 left in the game, the Storm made a three-pointer that forced Tiffin to foul. Tiffin was unable to make a basket in the final seconds to give Lake Erie the 77-72 win.  

Trent Williams led the team with 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists, Thomas Hickman scored 14 points shooting 5-for-7 from the field, three rebounds, and two assists, and teammate Dalaino Walker tallied 11 points shooting 4-for-7 from the field, five rebounds, and one assist.
