The Tiffin University men's basketball team defeated Cedarville 77-62.

The Dragons shot 40 percent from beyond the arc and tallied 11 steals compared to the Yellow Jackets who shot 20 percent from beyond the arc and recorded two steals.

The Dragons improve to 5-8 overall and 5-8 in the conference while the Yellow Jackets fall to 6-5 overall and 6-5 in the conference. 

After falling behind 4-2, Tanner Johnson made two quick threes that sparked an 8-0 run to lead 13-7. A closely contested first half ended with the Dragons up 39-32 at halftime. The Dragons outshot the Yellow Jackets in the first half shooting 50 percent from three-point range compared to 14.3 percent from the Yellow Jackets.

Cedarville came out strong in the second half, going on a 6-0 run early to cut the Dragons' lead down to one possession but the Dragons countered with a 17-3 run to lead 68-52.  

The Dragons made some clutch free throws at the end of the game to seal the 77-62 win. 

Trent Williams led the team scoring 24 points shooting 6-for-12 from beyond the arc, recorded three rebounds, three assists and one steal. Tanner Johnson scored 15 points shooting 4-for-11 from beyond the arc, grabbed six rebounds and had one assist. 

Wesley Jordan scored nine points, grabbed five rebounds, had three steals and one assist, and teammate Thomas Hickman scored nine points as well, tallied five steals, five assists and four rebounds. 

With 24 points Williams set a new career-high in points. His previous career high of 17 was set against Wheeling on Nov. 30, 2019. Hickman tied a career high with five steals. The last time he had five steals was against Alderson Broaddus on Jan. 18, 2019.
