Ohio Valley Holds Off Late Surge to Capture 78-68 Victory

The Tiffin University men's basketball team was defeated by Ohio Valley University 78-68. 

The Scots shot 56.4 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from beyond the arc compared to the Dragons 36.6 percent from the field and 25.8 percent from beyond the arc.

The Scots improve to 2-8 overall and 2-8 in the conference, while the Dragons drop to 3-8 overall and 3-8 in the conference. 

Ohio Valley started the game on a 6-2 run but Tiffin countered with a 6-2 run to tie the game at 8-8. 

The Scots scored 12 unanswered points to lead 20-8. Ohio Valley outscored Tiffin 12-2 to end the first half up 42-25. 

The Dragons went on a 12-4 run to cut into the Scots lead, 52-42. The Scots countered with a 6-0 run to lead 58-42. 

Tiffin scored 7 unanswered points to cut Ohio Valley's lead to single digits 58-49 with 7:05 left in the game. Two quick three pointers by Jaeden King brought the Dragons within five of the Scots 60-55, but the Scots scored the next five points to increase their lead to 65-55.

The Scots held on with key free throws down the stretch to win 78-68.

In Jaeden King's return to the lineup he led the Dragons with 16 points shooting 6-for-18 from the field, adding four rebounds and one steal.

Tanner Johnson contributed 11 points shooting 4-for-15 from the field, grabbing five boards, and making one assist while teammate Wesley Jordan tallied 10 points shooting 4-for-7 from the field, had nine rebounds, one steal, one assist, and one block. 

Trent Williams tallied nine points shooting 4-for-7 from the field, added four assists, two rebounds, and one block.
