Tiffin University's defense forced 19 turnovers leading to 19 points, as the Dragons dispatched Lake Erie 78-71 to break a five-game losing streak.

Tiffin (3-5, 3-5 GMAC) committed just 4 turnovers of its own while outscoring LEC 19-5 on points off turnovers. They also held a 36-16 advantage in the paint despite being outrebounded 42-26. The Dragons' defense also held the Storm to just 39 percent from the field.

The Dragons opened on a 23-12 run after the first 10 minutes but the Storm eventually cut into the lead leading to a 31-31 tie with 3:04 left in the first half. The Dragons were not to be denied heading into halftime, as they finished the half on a 7-0 run to lead 38-31 at the break.

TU opened the second half on a 16-10 run that pushed their lead to its largest margin at 54-41. But the Storm used hot three point shooting to go on a 20-7 run that brought them to within 64-61 with 5:00 to play. Overall LEC held a 13-6 edge in three pointers.

The Dragons held their composure down the stretch, hitting their foul shots to put the game away.

Wesley Jordan led the team off the bench with 24 points along with 5 rebounds. Tanner Johnson also had 11 points while Trent Williams added 10 more. Thomas Hickman finished with 9 points and 5 rebounds, and Braxton Foreman added 8 points off the bench.
