Chargers Hold off Dragons Late Push to take 66-54 Win

The Tiffin University men's basketball team lost to Hillsdale 66-54, as the Chargers' strong defense held off the Dragons to take the win.

The Dragons shot 35.2 percent from the field and 22.7 beyond the arc, while the Chargers shot 48.3 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from beyond the arc.

The Chargers improve to 7-1 overall and 7-1 in the conference, while the Dragons drop to 2-5 overall and 2-5 in the conference.  

With Hillsdale leading 5-4 early in the contest, the Chargers went on a 19-5 run to take a commanding lead 24-9. The Dragons tried to chip away at the lead but still trailed at the break 36-21. 

Tiffin could not make a dent in the Chargers' defense until the final four minutes of the game, when they went on a 14-4 run to make the final deficit 12 points.   

Wesley Jordan led the Dragons, scoring 12 points and grabbing four rebounds, followed by Trent Williams who tallied nine points, with four assists and two rebounds. Thomas Hickman recorded seven points, seven rebounds and two assists. 

Up next the Dragons will host Lake Erie at the Gillmor Center with the game set to start at 7:30 p.m.
