Tiffin Falls to Findlay 85-57

The Tiffin University men's basketball team fell to the University of Findlay 85-57, as the Oilers used hot shooting to put TU away.

The Oilers shot 68 percent from the field and 60 percent from beyond the arc, while the Dragons shot 35.5 percent from the field and 28.9 percent from beyond the arc. 

The Oilers improve to 7-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference, while the Dragons drop to 2-4 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

The Oilers, who outrebounded the Dragons 33-18 overall, came out hot, outscoring the Dragons 23-5 in the first seven minutes of play.

The Dragons went on a 7-0 run to bring the score to 23-12. The Dragons pulled to within ten of Findlay off a Tanner Johnson three but the Oilers went into the half up 49-26.

The Dragons battled Findlay in a much closer contest in the second half, with Findlay outscoring Tiffin 36-31. The Dragons were unable to cool off the Oilers and put a run together to get back in the game, eventually falling by 28 points. 

Tanner Johnson led the Dragons, scoring 21 points and shooting 7-for-13 from beyond the arc to hit his career-high. His previous career-high was 14 points against Cedarville on Jan. 2.

Braxton Foreman also hit double figures with 12 points and four rebounds. Wesley Jordan also added 9 points. 

Up next the Dragons head to Hillsdale on Saturday for a 3 p.m. start.
