Tiffin Outguns Ohio Valley, Moves to 2-0

TIFFIN, Ohio - Tiffin men's basketball recorded the highest scoring output against a Division II school in program history on Wednesday night, prevailing over Ohio Valley 123-107.

The Dragon offense was clicking on all cylinders for the second game in a row, as TU shot 56.8% from the field and 42.4% from deep in the game to improve to 2-0 on the year. Tiffin dished out 28 assists while turning the ball over just 11 times.

Jaeden King again led TU in scoring with 25 on the night, while Wesley Jordan broke out for a career-high 24 points along with eight rebounds and four assists. Jordan shot 8-12 from the field and 7-8 from the free-throw line, and five of his eight boards came on the offensive end.

Six Dragons in total scored in double figures, with Thomas Hickman (15), Trent Williams (15), Kole Hornbuckle (13), and Tanner Johnson (11) all reaching double digits. Hickman also had three steals and seven assists, tying a career-high, while Williams chipped in five assists.

Tiffin started hot, and looked well on their way to a rout of the Fighting Scots midway through the first half after Williams scored on a layup to make it 34-22 with 9:32 remaining in the period. Ohio Valley battled back with hot shooting of their own, even taking a one-point lead before halftime, but Tiffin was able to stem the run and go into the break with a five-point advantage, 62-57.

The teams traded blows for much of the second half, but Tiffin was finally able to pull away from Ohio Valley in the final minutes to claim the 16-point win. 

The Dragons will now face their first road test of the season, and it figures to be a big one, as they travel to #24-ranked Findlay on Friday afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. start.
