KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2019-20 NABC Honors Court on Wednesday, and Tiffin's Eric Turner has been selected for the award.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that student-athletes possess on the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

  • Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player
  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2019-20 academic year
  • Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution

A junior majoring in Computer Science: Network & Systems Administration, Turner amassed a GPA of 3.64 during his first full year on Tiffin's campus after transferring in from Arkansas Tech.

After missing the first few weeks of action due to injury, Turner played in 22 games with five starts, averaging 4.3 points per game and 1.9 rebounds per game. Turner's season-high of 15 points came in a thrilling win over Ohio Dominican on 2/1, when he went 5-9 from deep including the go-ahead triple in the final seconds to cap a late 18-point comeback.

Turner is the seventh Dragon to earn this honor from the NABC since its inception during the 2006-07 season.
