Dragons Pick Up First GMAC Win

VIENNA, W.Va. - Three Dragons scored over 20 points as Tiffin men's basketball outlasted Ohio Valley 92-82 on Saturday afternoon in their first game back from the holiday break.

The Dragons never trailed in the game, only coming tied once late in the first-half before leading all of the second period.

With the win, Tiffin improves to 1-4 in conference play and 7-8 overall, while Ohio Valley falls to 0-5 in the GMAC and 3-11 on the season.

Wesley Jordan led the way for Tiffin with a career-high 23 points on near-perfect shooting, going 7-8 from the field, 2-2 from deep, and 7-7 from the free throw line. Jordan also added seven rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Joshua Williams was next with 22 points and three assists, while Jairus Stevens added 21 points and nine boards. Stevens also went 3-4 from deep in the game, as the two Tiffin big men combined to shoot 5-6 from beyond the arc on the afternoon.

Thomas Hickman was also in double figures with 10 points, six assists, and five steals, while Jaden Terry added five points and a career-high seven rebounds off the bench.

The Dragons held a huge advantage in turnovers, forcing 24 by Ohio Valley while committing just 14. That led to a great margin in points off turnovers of 31-8. Tiffin also led in second-chance points, 23-17, and held the advantage from the free-throw line, 76.2% to 61.5%.

Tiffin will look to continue the momentum on Thursday when they host Hillsdale at 7:30 p.m.
