Tiffin men's basketball continues GMAC play on Saturday and Monday with their first two home conference games of the season against Walsh and Malone.

Dragon Details:

Tiffin came up short in a pair of conference games to open GMAC play last weekend, falling to both Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan on the road.

However, the Dragons are currently second in the conference with 84.8 points per game and fifth with a +4.9 scoring margin. TU also leads the GMAC with 9.2 steals per game and a +3.80 turnover margin.

Jairus Stevens leads Tiffin and ranks 10th in the conference at 16.6 points per game while adding 7.4 rebounds per game (7th in GMAC). Three other Dragons are in double figures, with Joshua Williams at 13.4 points per game, Wesley Jordan at 11.3 points per game, and Trent Williams at 10.8 points per game.

Scouting the Cavaliers:

Picked atop the GMAC Preseason Poll, Walsh won their first six games of the season with ease, but were upset in their conference opener last weekend with an 88-85 overtime loss to Lake Erie at home.

The Cavaliers boast one of the most prolific offenses thus far across Division II, ranking sixth in the country with 98.1 points per game, first with 15.1 triples per game, sixth with 45.1 rebounds per game, seventh with a 52.0 FG%, 16th with 18.7 assists per game, and second with a +29.1 scoring margin.

Darryl Straughter leads the conference with 20.7 points per game, and is currently first in DII with 5.29 made three-pointers per contest and fourth with a 57.8 3PT%. The Cavaliers have three of the top six scorers in the GMAC, with JT Shumate in third at 19.3 points per game and Sterling Christy sixth at 17.0 points per game. Christy and Shumate are also first and third in the GMAC, respectively, with 10.9 and 9.2 rebounds per game. The trio of Straughter, Shumate, and Christy are also first, second, and third in the conference in field goal percentage.

Scouting the Pioneers:

Malone has been up and down in the early going, entering the weekend at 5-5 with a 14-point defeat at the hands of Cedarville in their GMAC opener last weekend. 

The Pioneers are currently fifth in the conference with a 46.1 FG% and seventh with 76.9 points per game. They also do well in turnovers, ranking fifth with 5.88 steals per game and a +0.5 turnover margin.

Marcus Ernst is leading the Pioneers in the early going with 14.7 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game (4th in GMAC), and 1.4 blocks per game (3rd in GMAC). Jaret Majestic is right behind with 14.4 points per game, followed by Bo Myers at 12.8 points per game and Sehill Mouliom at 11.9 points per contest.
