Dragons rise to 17th in AFCA poll

Tiffin University continues to rise entering the final weeks of the 2023 regular season, reaching 17th in the latest AFCA Division II national poll.

The move jumps the Dragons two spots from last week. Tiffin is the only G-MAC school ranked nationally and has been steadily climbing the polls after their 9-0 start. The Dragons most recently beat Walsh 40-13 to improve to 7-0 in the conference.

The Dragons also continue to factor high in the national statistical rankings. They rank in the Top 4 in 9 different categories. They are second in the nation in total offense rank 3rd overall in turnover margin, offensive first downs, defensive touchdowns, passing yards allowed, rushing offense, and defensive team passing efficiency.  

The team is also 4th in scoring offense and turnovers gained.   

Individually Ronald Blackman is 2nd in the nation in rushing yards per carry, while Tyrese Banks-Dorn is 10th in scoring.  

Jesse Connell is also 12th in fumbles recovered, while Josh Lewis is 10th in kick returns.
