Tyler Richardson will be participating in the 2023 Hula Bowl on Jan. 14.

The game will be played at UCF FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando, Florida starting at 12 pm. The Hula Bowl is the nation's premier college football All-Star game. It is an event where all NFL, XFL, USFL and CFL teams will be represented by top scout players during Hula Bowl week. 100 of the top senior athletes are selected to play at the Hula Bowl, making it the ideal venue to showcase their talent up against the best the game has to offer. Players will be coming in from across the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan.

The Hula Bowl was established in 1946 as the Hula Bowl All-Star Football Classic game. When the inaugural game was played on January 5, 1947, the teams were composed of mainland college players versus a local Hawaiian Islands team; primarily made up of graduates of Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii. The teams played a two-game series every January until 1951. It was then, that the format was changed to allow NFL Players to join the Hawaiian All-Stars in an effort to create a more competitive game.

This year, the game will include NCAA college football players from all divisions, along with international players from Japan, Canada, Australia, and the UK. In addition, the game will always include Polynesian players with historic ties to the Islands.

Richardson posted 28 tackles and a team-leading 5 pass breakups in 2022, earning Third Team All G-MAC selection. He was also a 2022 preseason selection to the D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch team, earning Squad status. He is a three-time all-conference pick who totaled 112 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 18 breakups during his TU career.
