Dragons travel to Kentucky Wesleyan

Tiffin University (5-3, 5-1 GMAC) will play its final regular season road game at Kentucky Wesleyan (2-7, 1-5) Nov. 5 at 5 pm EST.

Tiffin is unbeaten against the Panthers, holding a 6-0 career mark. They have outscored KWC over that stretch 221-78. Under Coach Reisert, TU has outscored the Panthers 114-34 including a 21-0 shutout in 2020. Only once have the Dragons allowed more than 17 points in a game to KWC.

LAST TIME OUT

It certainly wasn't pretty, but in the end Tiffin University did what it had to and beat Kentucky Wesleyan 34-28 in overtime on Oct. 23, 2021. Tiffin was forced to battle from behind throughout the day, falling behind 14-0 early, 21-7 at the half, and 28-21 late in the fourth quarter. They turned the ball over 5 times, while KWC also had 3 turnovers. The two teams also combined for 153 yards in penalties.

KENTUCKY WESLEYAN OFFENSE

-The Panthers' offense averages 14.0 points per game, 313.2 yards per game, and are fifth in the conference in passing yards averaging 219.2 per contest.
-Christian Arrambide leads the offense as the quarterback and has thrown for 1001 yards and seven passing touchdowns this year. 
-Arrambide's favorite target is Brennen McGuire who has 39 receptions for 647 yards and four touchdown receptions, David Florence leads the team with 45 catches for 571 yards and five touchdown catches, and Peyton Peters has recorded 27 catches for 308 yards and one touchdown catch. 
-Landon Newman leads the backfield with 81 rushes for 420 yards and two rushing touchdowns, followed by Jatorian Dillard with 101 rushes for 356 yards. 
-Bryan Kinley leads the team in all-purpose yards with 571 with 473 coming off kick returns averaging 27.8 yards per return. 

 

KENTUCKY WESLEYAN DEFENSE

-The Panthers' defense is fourth in the conference in yards, allowing only allowing 325.2 total yards this season, fifth in the GMAC in rush defense allowing 139.4 rushing yards, and third in passing yards allowed with 185.8 yards per game. 
-Kentucky Wesleyan's defense is led by Jalen Humphrey with 80 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and three quarterback hurries, Ramond Jackson is second on the team in tackles with 44 so far this year, 1.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, five pass breakups, and one quarterback hurry, and Jaden Santos-Lopez has registered 38 tackles this season, 6.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, and four quarterback pressures. 

 

TIFFIN OFFENSE

- The Dragons' offense is first in the conference as they average 33.5 points per game this season, second in the conference in total yards at 3342 for an average of 417.8 yards per game, is second in the conference in rushing yards with 1524, third in the conference in passing yards with 1818 yards, and tied for first in the conference in total touchdowns with 30.
- Christian Carter is 151-for-232 completing 65.1 percent of his passes for 1582 yards, and has thrown for eight passing touchdowns. Carter is second on the team in rushing as he has 69 rushes for 342 yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
- Darius Pinnix leads all rushers as he rushed 110 times for 621 yards and six touchdowns, and teammate Devin Nelson is third on the team in rushing as he has 52 attempts for 313 yards.  
- Anthony Lowe has been on a tear as he has registered 59 catches for 688 yards and one touchdown. The senior is first in the conference in all-purpose yards with 184 punt return yards and 295 kick return yards along with three returns for touchdowns.  
- Josh Lewis has put up big numbers with 22 catches for 345 yards and three touchdowns, and Jalen Thomas rounds out the group with 22 receptions for 264 yards and two touchdowns.

 

TIFFIN DEFENSE

- Tiffin's defense stays dominant as they are second in the conference in points allowed at 14.5 per game, second in the conference in total yards allowed at 277.8 yards per game, second in the GMAC in rushing defense only allowing 101.6 rushing yards per game, second in the conference in pass defense allowing 176.1 passing yards per game, tied for first in the conference in sacks with 24, and tied for first the conference in interceptions with eight.
- Sir Zion Dance leads the defense as he has 64 tackles this season, 2.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, one pass breakup, and one block, followed by teammate Patrick Tueimeh with 53 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one pass breakup, and one block.
- Charlie Cleveland has registered 39 tackles, 3.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, and two quarterback hurries.
- Barry Brown has recorded 31 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception, and one pass breakup. 
- Jermaine Wimpye is tied for first on the team in interceptions with four, 31 tackles, one tackle for loss, and two pass breakups, and teammate Chucky Lewis is tied for first on the team in interceptions with four, registered 29 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and three pass breakups. 
- Montez Kelley leads the team in sacks with 6.0 this season. He has 7.5 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery and Latrell Robinson has 23 tackles this year and two sacks.
