Tiffin University prepares for its home opener against Ohio Dominican.

Tiffin University (1-0, 1-0 GMAC) takes on Ohio Dominican (1-0, 1-0 GMAC) in its home opener on Sept. 10 at 1 pm at Frost Kalnow Stadium.

Tiffin is 6-7 overall against the Panthers but has won the last four meetings during the GMAC era. Those four contests, though, were decided by an average of fewer than 10 points per game.  TU has not lost to ODU since 2015 when they fell 22-7.

Last Time Faced

The Dragons beat ODU on Senior Night 34-21. A low-scoring first half was followed by a second half that saw their offense put up 24 points. The Dragons also benefited from quick-strike possessions, as they overcame a 9:00 time of possession advantage by the Panthers with big play drives and great second-half field position as a result of strong kick returns on special teams.

ODU Offense

- The Panthers Jake Byrd at quarterback went 27-for-43 for 273 yards and one touchdown last week.
- The rushing game was strong for the Panthers on offense as they rushed for 155 yards. Their leading rusher was W.R. Sanders who had 56 yards on thirteen attempts, Jordan Pantaleo rushed seven times for 50 yards and had a touchdown, Travis Whittaker rushed for 42 yards with a touchdown, and Leo Nixon had 14 yards and one touchdown.

ODU Defense

- ODU's defense won the day as they held Findlay to -3 yards rushing as they had 10 tackles for loss resulting in negative 47 yards that included five sacks on the day.
- The Panthers' D-line was led by Jaylin Garner who tallied four sacks and one pass breakup. Garner broke the single-game sack record and tied the GMAC mark.
- Jayden Hill and Daishaun Hill led the team with ten tackles each. Jayden had two pass breakups while Daishaun forced a fumble to lead the team.
