Add one more elite honor to JaQuan Hardy's resume following the 2019-20 athletic season.

The Great Midwest Athletic Conference was proud to announce Tiffin University redshirt junior running back JaQuan Hardy (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake HS) as the 2019-20 recipient of the prestigious Male Athlete of the Year Award.

Hardy was voted with the most outstanding playing season in a league full of talented student-athletes following a vote from Great Midwest member institution sports information directors.

Hardy's football accomplishments on the gridiron didn't go unrecognized by various media outlets as he hauled in a laundry list of postseason awards at the conference, regional and national levels in 2019.

Hardy helped Tiffin celebrate a conference championship as the Dragons went undefeated at 7-0 in the league schedule. The Dragons would finish 9-2 overall after earning a bid to the NCAA Championship bracket in Super Region 1.

"We are all very excited for JaQuan to win the Great Midwest Athlete of the Year," said Tiffin head coach Cris Reisert. "His selflessness, work ethic and competitive excellence, make him a great example of a true Dragon!"

A battering ram at the line of scrimmage with deceptive breakaway speed at the second level, Hardy blew up as he tied the conference single-season rushing record with 1,554 yards (third in Division II) on 204 carries.

He set single-season conference records by averaging 141.3 yards per game, 7.6 yards per rush (sixth in Division II) and ripped off the longest run from scrimmage, dashing 94 yards against Walsh on Sept. 21.

Hardy was presented with the 2019 Great Midwest Player of the Year award and was named a Second Team All-American by both the AFCA and the D2CCA. He was a Third Team All-American selection by Don Hansen and was Honorable Mention All-American by D2Football.com. In those outlets, he was also all region before moving on to the next stage of voting in the awards process.

Hardy tied for the league lead with 15 rushing touchdowns and three scores in three different games. This fall, the senior will be taking aim at the conference career rushing record currently held by Hillsdale's David Graham (3,038), just his second year suiting up for Tiffin as a Great Midwest member.

Hardy's single-game best total on the ground during the fall was 220 yards vs. Ohio Dominican, tied for the seventh most among all Great Midwest tailbacks.

With one year remaining, Hardy is fifth in the Tiffin career record books in attempts, third in yards, third in touchdowns, tied for eighth in points, and eighth in all-purpose yards.

Other accomplished finalists around the league for consideration of Great Midwest Male Athlete of the Year included Cedarville's Payton Eeles (baseball), Hillsdale's Joseph Humes (cross country/track and field), Ohio Dominican's Camren Moore (football), Malone's Eric Mullet (baseball), Findlay's Tim Stollings (swimming and diving) and Walsh's Darryl Straughter (basketball).
