Dragons compete at Oberlin in AM-PM Western

The Tiffin Dragon Western Equestrian Team competed at the Oberlin College meet Saturday Dec 2nd. 

The AM meet ended with Tiffin solidly in 3rd place out of 10 teams. The point breakdown was The University of Findlay-27, Youngstown State-25, Tiffin-17, Akron and Lake Erie both with 14, Oberlin-9, Thiel and BGSU with 8, Fransican-7 and Kent with 6 points. 

Samatha Dalton led the team with a 1st place win in the walk trot division. Rachael Dowczek brought home a 2nd in the competitive Advanced division, and Kaitlyn Borer scored 2nd in the Intermediate II division. Calysta Herniter scored a third in Intermediate II.  Ashley Koszalka earned a 4th in Open Horsemanship. Fifth place earners were Lexi Reisner in Walk Jog, McKenzie Seargent, and Emily Boersen in Intermediate II, and Lindsey Weiser in Novice.  Madyson Palmer received a 6th place for her Intermediate II ride. 
 
In the PM meet, Ashley Koszalka spun and slid her way to a first place finish in the Open Reining division. Combined with a fourth in Open Horsemanship, Koszalka earned the overall reserve high point rider award. Sam Dalton finished 4th in walk/jog, Calysta Herniter 5th in Intermediate II, Lindsey Weiser 5th in novice, and Morgan Hixenbaugh 6th in her Intermediate II class. For the PM meet Tiffin ended tied with BGSU for 4th place out of the ten teams.
