Equestrian team finishes 5th on Day One at Stonegate

The Tiffin University Equestrian Hunt Team traveled to Stonegate Farm, home of Ohio University, for a Zone 6 Region 1 competition.

The show began with Paige McCaslin and Rebecca McCrea both earning 5th place in intermediate jumping . Moving into the novice jumping, Melissa Macechko received a 5th place ribbon. Freshman Sydney Cox received a 1st place ribbon while Devyn Hennessey came in 2nd place. Lindsay Weiser had a nice round that also won a 1st place.

When the Dragons moved into the flat portion of the show, Carolyn McCurrach rode with polish in the open and left with a first place ribbon. In the novice flat, Lindsey Weiser received 4th place while Sydney won 2nd place. Melissa Macechko received a 5th place while Devyn Hennessey rode strong for a 1st place. In the Beginning walk/trot/canter division, Calysta Herniter came in 4th place while Emily Boerson came in 3rd. Kaitlyn Borer left her class with 6th place. In the last class of the day walk/trot rider Alexis Williams left her class with 6th place.

Freshman Sydney Cox's 1st place over fences, and 2nd place on the flat earned her the overall reserve high point rider award for the day.

The Tiffin University Equestrian Team scored 5th overall out of 11 teams.
