Equestrian competes in Lake Erie Western show

Saturday, September 30th, the Tiffin University Equestrian Team western riders competed in a double-header at Lake Erie College, hosted by Lake Erie College and Youngstown State University.  Out of eleven teams, the Tiffin University Equestrian Team finished 4th in the morning show and 5th in the afternoon show.

 

Starting bright and early in the morning show, Ashley Koszalka placed 5th in Reining and 2nd in Open Horsemanship.  In the Novice division, Lindsay Weiser had a solid ride and brought in a 2nd place, Miranda Bosler finished 6th, and Rachael Dowczek brought a blue ribbon in her class.  Intermediate II rider, Karalyn Suter, had a phenomenal ride which placed her 3rd in her class and allowed her to point up to the Novice division and qualify for Regionals! Also competing in the Intermediate II division, Morgan Hixenbaugh placed 5th and Kaitlyn Borer finished 4th in their classes.  Intermediate I riders, McKenzie Sargent and Dylan Saunders, represented Tiffin University proud in their class and finished 3rd and 5th.  In the Beginner Horsemanship division, Alexis Reisner, Jordan Sauer, and Alexis Williams conquered their divisions with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons!  All of these impressive rides totaled to an overall team placing 4th for the morning show.

 

As the afternoon show began, the Beginner Horsemanship riders rode exceptionally well.  Alexis Reisner and Destiny Maruna both finished 5th in their classes and Jordan Sauer had a great ride, landing her a solid 2nd place. Intermediate I riders Dylan Saunders and McKenzie Sargent took 3rd and 4th in their class and McKenzie pointed-up into the Intermediate II division.  Representing Intermediate II, Madeline Powers took 5th place, Calysta Herniter brought home a 3rd, and Emily Boersen finished 4th. Competing in the Novice division, Lindsay Weiser and Miranda Bosler finished 6th in their classes and Rachael Dowczek landed a 4th and pointed-up to the Advanced division!  Open rider Ashley Koszalka performed a excellent Reining pattern and finished 4th and placed 3rd in her Open Horsemanship class.  Once placings were compiled, the Tiffin University Equestrian Team finished 5th overall.

 

Next Saturday and Sunday, October 7th and 8th, the Tiffin University Equestrian Team hunt riders will be competing at the University of Findlay.
