Tiffin University (11-26) fell behind early and fell just short in a late comeback bid, losing to Kent State 15-12.

The game was close early. The Dragons got on the board first when Tim Orr drilled a solo home run in the first inning.

TU added another run in the second, as Tommy Thamann doubled and advanced to third on the throw. He then scored on a passed ball.

In the third, Orr was hit by a pitch and Griffin Stevens doubled to drive him home and tie the game 3-3. Kent State responded with four runs in the bottom of the third to take a 7-3 lead.

Down 9-3 in the fifth inning, Logan Swonger got one run back with a solo home run.

TU's comeback bid started in the eighth inning. Stevens and Ben Bach singled and Hilario DeLaPaz doubled to drive in a run. Thamann then singled for 2 RBI as TU scored three times.

In the ninth, TU rallied for five runs. Swonger was hit by a pitch and Orr followed with a single. Stevens grounded out to third to get one run home. Bach walked, and Andrew Fairbrother doubled for another RBI. Dawson Groch singled in a run, as did Connor Huzicka. After a Joey Kench single, Aidan Grabowski hit into a fielder's choice for TU's final run.

Ben Hubert was one of eight TU pitchers, and he took the loss with one inning of work. He allowed 4 earned runs on 4 hits.

Overall Stevens, Thamann, and Orr all had two hits, with Stevens and Thamann had 2 RBI each.
