Dragons swept by Oilers on day one of G-MAC series

Tiffin University (9-21, 1-13 G-MAC) generated 7 hits in a doubleheader loss to Findlay, falling 7-1 and 5-2.

In the opener, the Dragons had three singles, scoring their lone run in the first inning. Aidan Grabowski reached on an error at shortstop. Connor Huzicka then singled and both runners moved up on a passed ball. Tim Orr then grounded out to shortstop, bringing in the run..

Kyler Archual took the loss, pitching 5 innings and allowing 4 earned runs. Scotty Adelman finished up with 4 innings of hitless relief with 5 strikeouts.

In the nightcap, the game came down to the final inning. Tied 2-2, Findlay scratched across three runs (one earned) in the top of the inning. TU tried to rally in the bottom of the 7th, with Orr doubling and Grabowski walking as the tying run came to the plate with two outs. Logan Swonger struck out looking to end the threat.

TU had four hits in the game, with Orr's double the lone extra-base hit.

Rob DeBastos started and went 4.1 innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs with 5 strikeouts. Noah Kandel took the loss, allowing an earned run on 3 hits over 1.2 innings of work. Andrew Siler closed it out with an inning of work with two strikeouts.

TU scored in the second inning. TJ Truso walked and Alex Diehl singled. Tommy Thamann then singled home TU's first run.

Trailing 2-1 in the fifth, Grabowski reached on a fielder's choice and moved up on a passed ball. Swonger then singled to drive him home and tie the game 2-2.
