Saginaw Valley’s High-Powered Offense Pushes Past Tiffin 15-4

Tiffin University fell behind early to Saginaw Valley and lost 15-4 in seven innings.

The Cardinals improve to 3-4 overall, while the Dragons fall to 4-10.

Tiffin started strong as Jake Shier hit a triple to right field and scored after Zach Campbell hit a single to lead 1-0. Next, Tim Orr singled to right field with Campbell on third to lead 2-0.

Saginaw Valley responded with a six-run inning to take a 6-2 lead. Tiffin fought back as they scored two in the third, as Tim Orr hit a triple with Campbell on first and scored. Nich Green hit a single to center field to score Orr, cutting the Cardinals lead to 6-4.

Tiffin could not get any closer to the Cardinals and they went on to score 9 more runs and win 15-4.

The Dragons' offense was led by Tim Orr who went 3-for-4 at the plate including two triples, had two RBI, and scored one run, Zach Campbell went 1-for-4, scored twice, and had one RBI, and Nich Green went 1-for-3 and had one RBI.

Gunnar Boehm took the loss as he pitched 1.0 inning, let in six runs on six hits, and struck out two. Logan Fisher relieved Boehm and pitched 4.1 innings, allowing three runs on four hits, and struck out five.
