Baseball Loses to Embry-Riddle in Bottom of the Ninth

The Tiffin University baseball team was defeated by Embry-Riddle 7-6, as the winning run was walked in with the bases loaded.
 
Embry Riddle improves to 2-11 overall, while the Dragons fall to 3-6 overall.
 
The Dragons started strong, scoring three in the first inning. Griffin Stevens hit a single past shortstop with runners on first and third bringing in Jake Shier from third. Then, Isaiah Mirabal singled through the left side with the bases loaded to score Thomas Auth and Griffin Stevens to lead 3-0.
 
The Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the third to cut Tiffin's lead to 3-1. TU responded in the next inning as Cal Brazier hit a home run to left field to lead 4-1. 
 
Embry-Riddle was able to score an unearned run in the sixth to cut the lead down to two. 
 
The Dragons scored one more in the seventh as Zach Campbell singled through the left side to score Danny Donnelly to lead 5-2. 
 
The Eagles had a big seventh inning as they tied the game up 5-5 with three unearned runs. 
 
Embry-Riddle scored again in the eighth as Britton singled down the left-field line to score the runner to take their first lead of the game at 6-5.
 
At the top of the order in the ninth, Jake Shier singled to left field, then advanced to second as Campbell grounded to shortstop. Stevens singled through the right side and advanced to second on a fielding error to score Shier from second to tie the game at 6-6.
 
The Eagles scored in the bottom of the ninth as Martinez was walked with the bases loaded to seal the 7-6 win. 
 
Griffin Stevens led the team going 3-for-5, scored one run, and had two RBI, Isaiah Mirabal went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBI, Zach Campbell went 2-for-5, scored one run, and had one RBI, and Jake Shier went 1-for-2, was walked three times, one stolen base, and scored two runs. 
 
Gunnar Boehm started on the mound and pitched 6 innings, allowing five hits, two runs, and striking out five, facing 25 batters.
