The Tiffin University baseball team defeated Ashland University 22-6 earlier today.

The Dragons improve to 2-0 overall, while the Eagles drop to 2-1. 

The Eagles opening the scoring in the top of the first scoring two runs. The Dragons answered with four runs of their own to take a 4-2 lead. 

Tiffin's offensive dominance continued in the second as they scored nine runs starting with a home run by Marino Pugnetti, then Griffin Stevens singled to center field scoring Kyle Vance from third. Ricky Havrilla singled to load the bases for Tiffin as Nich Green came to bat and singled to center field, bringing home Stevens and Campbell. The pitcher walked four straight batters scoring three times to lead 13-3.  

The Dragons extended their lead in the fourth, adding three runs. A Pugnetti single brought in Bryce Richey, while Kyle Vance singled to center field allowing Pugnetti and Shier to score. 

Ashland scored in the fifth with a two run homer to cut the lead to 16-5. The Dragons hit a sac fly to right field scoring Nich Green, then Jake Shier grounded out to shortstop allowing Donnelly to score. Kyle Campbell hit a home run with Vance and Pugnetti on first and second to lead 21-5.

Tiffin added one more run in the sixth with a Shier single bringing in Green. Ashland scored one in the eighth but the Dragons offensive outburst sealed the win 22-6. 

The Dragons were led by Pugnetti who went 2-for-4 with a homer, three RBI, scored four runs, and had two walks, Zach Campbell batted 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, scored three runs, and one walk and Kyle Vance went 4-for-5, recorded five RBI, and scored three runs. 

Michael Boswell got the win, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing only three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts. Tyler Wehrle came in relief of Boswell, pitched four innings, and allowed three runs on four hits while striking out seven.
