April (Nietrzeba) Shaneck (2005-07) is a 2006 NAIA All American who led the Tiffin University softball team to some of its greatest seasons. She was a two-time All National Independent, All Region, and All Conference pick during her two-season career. She ranks fourth in career pitching wins and holds season records for strikeouts and complete games while also finishing second in career ERA. She is also second in the TU record books for single season victories. During her 2006 season, the team was ranked 13th in the nation. She led the team to the NAIA National Tournament in 2006 and 2007 along with winning the Region IX Championship both years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a major in Forensic Science from Tiffin University and a master’s degree in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Florida. She currently works at Lucas County Coroner’s Toxicology Laboratory. She and her family reside in Perrysburg, Ohio.
