Eric Hamner (2001-04) is one of the premier track and field and cross country athletes in Tiffin University history. He is a three-time National qualifier in track and field (twice in NAIA, once in NCAA) as well as a three-time All-Region performer in cross country. During his career he won three American Mideast Conference Championships in the 3000 meters and steeplechase, qualifying for the National Championships in both events. He is a three-time All-Region pick in cross country as well as a three-time All-Ohio and All-AMC Freshman selection. He ranks third in career Top 10 finishes in cross country and at the time of his graduation held eight school records. He earned Bachelor's degrees in Sports Management and Business Marketing. Eric also pursued a teaching license in Health and Physical Education K-12 and currently works for Lakewood Local Schools as a health and physical education teacher. He has also enjoyed success as a collegiate and high school track and cross country coach and currently coaches at Teays Valley High School. He and his family reside in Ashville, Ohio.
