Michael Gurtner had a sensational junior season for the men's tennis program in 2021-22. 

Gurtner, a native of Tumeltsham, Austria, earned First Team All GMAC honors while helping the Dragons win the 2022 GMAC regular seson and tournament championships. Gurtner landed his second All GMAC selection, improving from his Second Team pick in 2020-21. He had a 12-5 singles mark with a 14-4 doubles tally. 

The doubles team of Matthew Telford/Michael Gurtner was also ranked, rising to a season-high mark of 29th. They had previously been as high as 39th on March 18. The pair had a 10-4 overall doubles record. The Dragons overall finished the year ranked 50th in the NCAA.
