Volleyball Falls 3-0 to Reigning GMAC Champion Hillsdale

The Tiffin University volleyball team fell 3-0 to reigning GMAC champion Hillsdale. 

The Chargers improve to 20-3 overall and 11-0 in the GMAC, while the Dragons fall to 11-14 overall and 5-6 in the GMAC.

The Chargers got out to an early 9-4 lead, then the Dragons were able to slowly chip away at the Hillsdale lead to come within four of the host. The Chargers rallied with a 7-0 run to lead 22-11 and clinched the first set 25-13.

After falling behind 4-1 the Dragons rallied to lead 6-4 early. Both teams traded points and were locked in at 10-10 until Hillsdale went on a 5-0 run. The Dragons rallied back on a 7-2 run to take a 22-21 lead. The two teams were unable to gain a two-point lead with each team going on 2-0 runs and tying eleven times before Hillsdale was able to string together a 3-0 run to win set two 35-33.

Hillsdale jumped out to a 5-0 lead in set three and extended their lead to as much as 12-3. The Dragons countered with a big 9-2 run to bring the score to 15-13. However, the Chargers slowly built up a 21-16 lead until Tiffin went on a 5-0 run to tie the game at 21-21. Hillsdale scored the last four points to win the third set 25-21. 

Taylor Peterson led the Dragon offense with 10 kills and a .095 hitting percentage, seven digs, and 2.0 blocks, Kenedi Goon followed with nine kills with a .389 hitting percentage, three block assists and one dig.  Grace Schreiber recorded three kills, one solo block, seven block assists and five digs and Diana Heitkamp registered 20 digs, one assist, and one kill.
