Volleyball team Drops 3-0 Loss to Walsh

The Tiffin University women's volleyball team lost to Walsh University 3-0.

The Cavaliers improve to 10-6 overall and 6-3 in the GMAC, while the Dragons fall to 8-12 overall and 5-4 in the GMAC.

The Dragons started well holding a 7-5 lead early, then Walsh went on a 7-2 run to take a 12-9 lead. Tiffin fought back and tied the game at 13-13, but the Cavaliers built an 18-15 lead and outscored the visitors 7-3 to win the first set 25-19.

Walsh's offense went off in the second set building a 7-2 lead. However the Dragons responded with a 6-0 run to lead 8-7. Both teams traded points with neither gaining any significant advantage over the other until the Cavaliers went on a 3-0 run to lead 20-16. Then, Walsh outlasted Tiffin to win the second set 25-20.

Tiffin started the third set well with a 4-1 lead, but Walsh countered with a 3-0 run to tie the game at 4-4. The Cavaliers rallied going on a 7-2 run to lead 13-9. The Dragons chipped away at the Walsh lead, outscoring them 6-2 to come within one of Walsh. A 6-2 run by the Cavaliers gave them a 22-17 lead, allowing Walsh to win 25-18 to close out the third and final set.

Grace Schreiber led the Dragons, recording nine kills with a .429 hitting percentage and one block assist while teammate Josie Reinhart tallied nine kills with a .304 hitting percentage, five digs, and two assists. Sam Fallis registered 23 digs and one assist and Loryn Huffman had 18 assists, five digs, and one kill.
