The Tiffin University volleyball team went 1-1 today with a win over Salem 3-0, while falling to host Clarion 3-0.

Salem:

Tiffin started the first set strong going up 6-1 then went on a 6-2 run to lead 12-3. The Dragons' offense never let up in the set, going on to win 25-8. The Dragons registered 11 kills in the first set with a .458 hitting percentage. 

In the second set the Dragons fell behind 5-3 but were able to claw back and tie the game at 6-6. That sparked a 5-1 run that saw the Dragons go up 10-7. The Tigers countered with a 3-1 run to come within one but the Dragons strung together a 12-3 run to lead 23-13. The Tigers had a late surge but the Dragons closed out set two with a 25-17 win. Tiffin had 10 kills with a .045 hitting percentage while Salem had 7 kills with a .000 hitting percentage.

Salem got off to a hot start going up 7-2 in the third set. The Dragons went on a 4-0 run to bring the score to 7-6. The Dragons continued this offensive pressure and outscored the Tigers 6-1 to take a 12-8 lead. The Tigers cut into the Dragon lead until they went on a 6-0 run to lead 20-12 and went on to win the third set 25-15. The Dragons had 10 kills with a .219 hitting percentage while the Tigers had six kills. 

Taylor Peterson led the Dragons recording eight kills with a .389 hitting percentage, five digs and one block assist. Wakaya Wilson tallied eight kills with a .278 hitting percentage, and three digs. Diana Heitkamp had 17 digs, one service ace, and one block assist and teammate Loryn Huffman had two kills, 18 assists, seven digs, and one service ace. 

Clarion:
Tiffin University volleyball fell 3-0 to Clarion in match two of the day by scores of 25-22, 25-19, and 25-21.  

It was a close affair as both teams had double digit kills in all three games. Clarion had 16 kills with a .239 hitting percentage while the Dragons recorded 12 kills with a .175 hitting percentage in set one. In set two, the Golden Eagles had 16 kills with a .273 hitting percentage while Tiffin had 10 kills with a .135 hitting percentage, and in the third set Clarion tallied 17 kills with a .378 hitting percentage while the Dragons recorded 12 kills with a .206 hitting percentage. 

Tiffin's offense was led by Wakaya Wilson as she registered 11 kills with a .240 hitting percentage, two digs, two block assists, and one service ace, and teammate Taylor Peterson tallied 10 kills with a .429 hitting percentage, five digs, and three block assists. Loryn Huffman had three kills, 28 assists, seven digs, and one block assist.
