Tiffin Volleyball Defeated by McKendree 3-1

The Tiffin University volleyball team was defeated by McKendree 3-1 by scores of 25-20, 26-28, 25-15, and 25-19.

The Dragons pulled out to a 3-1 lead early followed by a 5-0 run by the Bearcats to lead 9-4. The Dragons chipped away at McKendree's lead with a 4-1 run that brought them within four. The Bearcats closed out the set with a 3-1 run to win 25-20. 

The Dragons started the next set strong, going up 4-1, but McKendree countered with a 3-0 run to tie at 4-4. The teams traded points until the Bearcats went on a 6-0 run to lead 22-18. Tiffin fought back and went on an 8-2 run to win the set 28-26. The two teams tied a total of 13 times in the second set.

The Bearcats got out to an early 9-3 lead in game three, countered by a Dragons 4-2 run to bring the score to 11-7. McKendree responded with a 4-1 run to lead 15-8 leading to a Tiffin timeout. The Dragons strung a 3-1 run together but the Bearcats responded with a 5-0 run. Tiffin had a late surge but McKendree won the third set 25-15. 

At the start of the fourth set TU went up 6-3 but the Bearcats came back to tie the fourth set at 6-6. The Dragons responded with a 4-0 run to force a McKendree timeout. The Dragons opened up a 13-8 lead followed by a 5-0 run to tie the game at 13-13. The two teams traded points the rest of the way until the Bearcats finished the set with a 6-1 run to win 25-19. 

Wakaya Wilson recorded 16.5 points for Tiffin including 16 kills with a .200 hitting percentage, one block assist, and five digs. Loryn Huffman led the team in assists with 27 and digs with 19, and four block assists. Mikayla Greer also hit double-digit points with 10.5 including 10 kills, one block assist, and two digs.
