Dragons in fourth place after second day of G-MAC Championships

Tiffin University continued to excel at the G-MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, rising to fourth place after day two.

Findlay leads the field with 79 points, followed by Hillsdale with 67, Walsh with 48, and Tiffin with 45.

Tiffin got good production from its field events. TU dominated the heptathlon, taking three of the top four spots. Emily Curtice won the G-MAC championship with an NCAA provisional score of 4650 points, while C'airra Carter was third with 4363 and Elliott Pennell was fourth with 4298.

In the shot put, Brook Boes hit another NCAA mark, taking 4th with 14.65 meters, while Harley West also got a point with an 8th-place finish with 13.54.

Pennell did well in the long jump, finishing 4th with 5.55 meters, while Carter was right behind in 5th with 5.53.

In preliminary action, Rajiah Andrews (14.46), Amirah Strauther (14.52), and Samantha Hoelscher (15.57) all qualified for the 100 hurdle finals, while Andrews also qualified in the 100 (11.99) and 200 meters (24.81).

Ines Macadam (800 in 2:12.96) and Hoelscher (400 hurdles in 1:04.72) also qualified for the finals in their events.

Competition concludes on May 5.
