TU continues to rise in Open Mat rankings

Tiffin University continues to rise in the latest Open Mat NCAA Division II national rankings.

The Dragons were ranked 14th in the tournament rankings, while also landing at 19th in the dual rankings. TU was the highest ranked G-MAC school in the tournament rankings, with Lake Erie coming in 20th and Ashland 21st. 

Zack Donathan (141 pounds) is the highest-ranked grappler for the Dragons, coming in 2nd in the nation. He won the Super Region 3 title and will be advancing to the NCAA Championships. He has a 10-1 record with 5 falls.

Casey Barnett (157 pounds) rose to 5th in the nation as he prepares for his trip to the NCAA Championships. Barnett won the 157-pound title at the Super Region 3 Championships. Overall Barnett has an 18-4 record with 8 falls.

Brandon Mendoza (125) was also ranked, placing 13th. He will also be making the trip to nationals after a second-place finish at the Super Region 3 tourney. Overall Mendoza has an 18-10 mark.

Jacob Noon (197) landed at 16th in the nation and will also be moving on to  nationals after winning the region championship. He is 19-11 with 7 pin victories.
