Dragons land spots in NWCA rankings

Tiffin University's men's wrestling program was recognized in the latest NWCA national rankings.

Tiffin University received votes, coming in tied for 30th along with G-MAC member Lake Erie. Ashland was tied for 24th, while Findlay was 34th.

Individually Casey Barnett was ranked 7th at 157 pounds, while Branden Mendoza was ranked 11th at 125 pounds and Clayton Ours was 12th at 285 pounds.

Tiffin University was also ranked 25th overall and had three individuals ranked in the latest Open Mat rankings.

The same three individuals were ranked in the Open Mat polls. Barnett was ranked 6th after his 4th-place finish at the Midwest Classic. He was also named G-MAC Wrestler of the Week Dec. 19 and holds a current 7-4 record.

Branden Mendoza came in ranked 8th at 125 pounds with 7 wins this season, while Clayton Ours was 15th at 285 pounds with a 17-9 overall mark.
