Tiffin falls to Lake Erie 14-7 in regular season finale

Tiffin University (5-11, 1-6 G-MAC) fell behind in the first half and could not catch up, falling to Lake Erie 14-7 in its regular season finale.

The Dragons fell behind 9-3 at halftime. Lake Erie scored the first four goals over the first four minutes, with Tiffin's Gabrielle Beals scoring a free position goal to get TU on the board at the 9:39 mark of the first quarter.

Trailing 6-1, TU got two more goals as it tried to get back in it. Katelyn Jarvis scored another free position goal, while Beals also scored an unassisted goal to make it 6-3. 

Lake Erie followed with six unanswered goals to put the game away. TU got second-half goals from Hannah Kaplan off a pass from Lillian Graham midway through the third quarter, a Graham goal off a pass from Beals early in the fourth quarter, another Beals goal off a dish from Jarvis, and an unassisted goal by Alex Sklack.

Overall Lake Erie held a 37-20 shot edge including a big 11-4 mark in the third quarter. Tiffin went just 9 for 22 on clears and had 24 turnovers. Lake Erie held a 21-11 edge in ground balls.

Overall Beals had 3 goals and an assist, while Jarvis had 7 draw controls along with a goal and assist. Sydney Dean led with 4 ground balls.

Jenay Rennie took the loss in goal, making 17 saves.
