The Tiffin University women's basketball team (6-19, 3-14 G-MAC) was defeated by G-MAC opponent Northwood 77-62.
Tiffin started with a 6-2 lead in the game, but the Timberwolves countered with an 8-0 run to lead 10-6 midway through the first quarter. The Dragons went on a 6-2 run to tie the game at 12-12 with 2:33 left in the first. Northwood outscored Tiffin 5-3 the rest of the quarter to lead 17-15 heading into the second quarter.
The two teams traded buckets to bring the score to 21-19 at the 7:21 mark. TU went on a 5-2 run to take a 24-23 lead. The Timberwolves responded with a 6-0 run to take a 29-24 lead with 2:20 left in the first half. Northwood went into the break with a 38-29 lead.
Tiffin came out of halftime going on a 5-2 run, cutting the lead to 40-34. The visitors responded with a 12-0 run to lead 52-34 with 3:01 left in the third quarter. The Timberwolves took control of the game in the third quarter and held a 62-35 lead going into the final frame.
Northwood let off the gas in the fourth quarter, allowing Tiffin to chip away at the lead. TU outscored Northwood 27-15 in the fourth but the Timberwolves held onto the lead to win 77-62.
Catara Dejarnette led the team with 14 points shooting 5-for-10 from the field, grabbing seven rebounds, four steals, and three assists, Ellie Gabel tallied 12 points shooting 5-for-10 from the field, with one assist, and one steal, and Savanah Richards had eight points shooting 4-for-6 from the field, five rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
