Women's Basketball Defeated by Trevecca Nazarene 71-64

The Tiffin University women's basketball team (5-11, 2-6 G-MAC) was defeated by G-MAC opponent Trevecca Nazarene 71-64.

The Trojans jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first three minutes of play but the Dragons bounced back with a 6-0 run to tie the game at 8-8. Trevecca Nazarene pulled away with an 8-2 run over the next four minutes to lead 18-10. Tiffin ended the first quarter with a 7-3 run to cut the visitor's lead to 21-17.

TU kept their momentum from the first quarter and scored the first five points to lead 22-21. The two teams traded buckets causing five lead changes, but the Dragons ended up on top after finishing the second quarter outscoring the Trojans 5-2 to lead 34-31 at halftime.

To start the third quarter Tiffin was able to build a 41-35 lead at the 6:56 mark. However, Trevecca Nazarene went on a 9-2 run to take back the lead at 44-43 with 3:35 left in the third quarter. TU narrowly outscored the Trojans 7-6 to tie the game at 50-50 going into the final frame.

Trevecca's offense went on a 10-2 run to lead 60-52, but Tiffin countered with a 5-0 run to cut the lead back down to three. The Trojans were able to convert clutch free throws down the stretch and held off the Dragons to win 71-64.

Kirsten Williams scored a season-high 15 points shooting 6-for-11 from the field and 3-for-6 from three-point territory, and had seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals, Ellie Gabel registered 10 points shooting 3-for-6 from the field and 2-for-5 from beyond the arc, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal, and Savanah Richards had eight points shooting 3-for-6 from the field, grabbed two rebounds, and two assists.
