Huge Fourth Quarter Fuels Overtime Win Over Ohio Dominican

The Tiffin University women's basketball team (5-9, 2-4 G-MAC) defeated Ohio Dominican 73-69 in overtime, ending a four-game skid.

Tiffin had four players with double-digit points and outscored the Panthers 28-14 in the final frame to force overtime.

Tiffin had a slow start as ODU took an early 5-1 lead. However, Tiffin responded with a 10-5 run to lead 11-10. The two teams traded buckets but Ohio Dominican came out of the first quarter with a 15-13 lead.

TU kept the game close as they were down 21-17 after three minutes of play. The Panthers' offense pulled away to extend their lead to 26-17 with 5:40 left in the first half. Tiffin chipped away at the lead going on a 5-2 run, but ODU went into the break, up 33-24.

Tiffin scored the first points of the second half at the 8:11 mark. Ohio Dominican got on the board a minute later, sparking an 8-0 run to lead 41-25 with 3:25 left in the third quarter. After three quarters the Panthers led 49-35.

In the final frame, the Dragons caught fire as they went on a 10-3 run in the first three minutes to cut the lead down to 52-45. Ohio Dominican went on a 4-0 run, but the Dragons countered with a 15-3 run to bring the score to 61-60. After Ohio Dominican built up a 63-60 lead, Tiffin hit a half-court three-pointer as time ran out to tie the game at 63-63 to force overtime.

In overtime, the Dragons kept their momentum as they outscored the host 7-4 to lead 69-67 at the 2:59 mark. Tiffin held on to the lead and won 73-69 in overtime.

Savanah Richards and Presley Feltner led the Dragons with 16 points apiece. Richards shot 4-for-12 from the field and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc, grabbed five rebounds, one assist, and two steals, and Feltner shot 7-for-9 from the field, five rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

Jada Tate scored 14 points shooting 6-for-8 from the field, and had four rebounds, two assists, and one block, Samantha Hoelscher tallied ten points shooting 3-for-7 from the field and 2-for-5 from three-point territory, five rebounds, and four assists, and Catara Dejarnette scored ten points including the half-court shot that forced overtime, shot 3-for-9 from the field, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
