Dragons win G-MAC Outdoor Championship

Tiffin University won the 2023 G-MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship for the second time in three years as competition concluded May 5 at Ashland University.

The Dragons hit 10 NCAA provisional marks on day three, outdistancing second-place Findlay 181-150. Ashland came in third with 133 points.

Tiffin got big points from their sprint teams. Tiffin took three of the top five spots in the 100 and 200 meters. In the 100, Widchard Guervil won the title in a blistering 10.28 seconds while Malachi Adams was second in 10.35 and Dylan Randall was 5th in 10.49. All three marks were provisional marks.

In the 200, Guervil was second in 21.08 while Adams took third in 21.14. Both marks were also provo marks. Randall also finished 5th in the 200 in 21.61. For his performance individually and with the 4x100 relay team, Guervil was named Co-Track Male Athlete of the Meet along with Walsh's Zach Kreft.

Shimar Bain also won the 400 hurdles title by hitting another NCAA mark in 52.01. Bain along with Dylan Randall tied for Male Freshman Athletes of the Meet.

The 4x400 relay squad won another championship with a provisional time of 3:13.71.

Collin Jasin won Tiffin's other championship on day three, winning the pole vault with a clearance of 5.01 meters for another provisional mark. Cade Carter finished 4th with 4.71.

Tiffin's 4x100 relay team was second in an NCAA qualifying time of 40.69, while Benedict Draghi got Tiffin's other provo mark in the discus with a third-place finish with 51.56 meters. Matthew Lamb waas 5th in the discus with 49.68.

In the 400, Drevon Trapp took 3rd in 48.47 while Michael McNeil was 4th in 48.63. Dalton Gleeson took 4th in the 5000 meters in 14:42.50. 

Nathaniel Ondracek finished 4th in the 1500 in 3:49.51 while Charles Guigon was 6th in 3:51.71. Ondracek also posted an eighth-place finish in the 800 in 1:57.91. Jake Price also got a point with an eighth-place mark in the triple jump with 13.09.
