Six provisional marks hit at Ashland

Tiffin University hit six NCAA provisional marks at the Ashland Invitational.

Leading the way was Widchard Guervil, who won the 200 meters in a blistering time of 21.12.

Collin Jasin hit another provisional mark, clearing 5.06 meters in the pole vault while finishing in fourth place.

Four other marks were hit by the TU throwers, led by Matthew Lamb who finished third with a provo mark of 50.67 meters in the discus. Jacob McPherson was 5th in the hammer throw with a throw of 61.12, while Vincent Volpe was right behind in 6th with an NCAA mark of 60.94 and Thomas Nelson also qualified with a mark of 58.77, good for 7th place.

Yassine Kalfaoui was 2nd in the javelin with 51.99, while Garrett Wilson was third in the same event with 48.89. Jake Price also took 3rd in the triple jump with 12.83, and Te'sean Jefferson was 3rd in the 100 meters in 10.89.

Other top marks went to McPherson (4th in shot put with 16.23), Benedict Draghi (5th in discus with 49.72), Stephen Powell (5th in 200 in 21.92), Elijah Miller (5th in triple jump with 12.72), and Kevin Hornbeak (6th in shot put with 16.03).

Tiffin also hit two more provisional marks in track events at Grand Valley State. Nathaniel Ondracek took 4th in the 800 meters with a provo time of 1:50.97, while Josh Bishop was 2nd in the steeplechase in 9:03.15.
