Bishop hits provisional mark as men's track competes

Tiffin University's Josh Bishop hit a provisional mark as the men's track squad competed in numerous meets.

Bishop hit an NCAA mark of 9:03.14 while taking second in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Flames Invitational at Lee University. The mark also shatters the old school record in the event set by Andrew Belzer in 2005 (9:07.09).

Drevon Trapp also did well, taking 4th in the 400 meters in 49.79.

The 4x100 relay team placed 6th in 43.41, while Nathaniel Ondracek took 7th in the 800 in 1:54.68. Octavious Joe also had a Top 10 finish, taking 8th in the 110 hurdles in 15.61.

More provisional marks were hit at Akron's Northeast Open. Jacob McPherson took second in the shot put with a toss of 16.87 while Kevin Hornbeak also hit a provo mark in the same event with a 4th-place throw of 16.72.

Matt Lamb placed in two events, 6th in the shot put with 16.14 and 5th in the discus with 49.04.

At the Tennessee Relays, Widchard Guervil won the 100 meters in a strong time of 10.54, while Dylan Randall was 3rd in 10.59 and Malachi Adams was 8th in 10.96.

TU's 4x100 relay team also took 2nd with an impressive 41.19.

At the University of Cumberlands meet, Garrett Hoepf was 2nd in the high jump with 1.95 meters, while Collin Jasin was also 2nd in the pole vault with 4.70 meters. 

Other top finishers included Josiah Gadson (3rd in decathlon with 5875 points), Cade Carter (4th in pole vault with 4.55), and Jacob Goudy (5th in javelin with 43.84).
