Dragons hit provisional marks at Tiffelberg Open

Tiffin University hit two provisional marks at the Tiffelberg Open on April 1.

Dylan Randall hit one of those marks in the 100 meters with a time of 10.46, while Thomas Nelson hit another in the hammer throw with a toss of 57.77 meters. Both Dragons won their events.

TU also had nine other winners at the meet. Charles Guigon won the 1500 in 4:02.35, while Shimar Bain also won the 400 hurdles in 58.56. Widchard Guervil was champ in the 200 meters in 21.48, while Elijah Miller also won the long jump with 6.73 meters. Matthew Lamb was also a winner in the shot put with 15.84 meters and the discus with 50.02.

TU also had a champion at the Hilltopper Relays, where Garrett Hoepf won the high jump with a clearance of 2.00 meters. Josiah Gadson was also runner-up in the long jump with 7.09 meters.

Back at Tiffelberg, two relay teams also took first. The 4x100 team of Kyron Rogers, Stephen Powell, Jordan Amijo, and Gabriel Maximo won in 43.06, and the 4x400 squad of Michael McNeil, Drevon Trapp, Randall, and Guervil also won in 3:24.80.

Runner-up honors went to Brian Pernell in the 400 hurdles in 59.27 and Benedict Draghi in the hammer throw with 55.62 and also in the discus with 49.80, while Trapp took 3rd in the 400 in 50.72 and Brock Carlson was 3rd in the shot put with 15.35. 

Fourth-place marks went to Jaden Wimbush (1500 in 4:05.42), Powell (100 in 10.96), Christopher Finklea (400 hurdles in 1:02.39), McNeil (200 in 22.19), Jacob Goudy (high jump with 1.80), Kevin Hornbeak (shot put with 15.29), and Vincent Volpe (hammer throw with 55.06).

Other top finishers were Maximo (5th in 100 in 11.08), Kyle Humes (5th in 400 hurdles in 1:02.50), Carlson in the discus with 41.34, and Powell (5th in 200 in 22.35).
