6th ranked Dragons send 5 standouts to Nationals

The 6th-ranked Tiffin University men's indoor track and field team will be sending five competitors to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.

The championships will be held March 11-13 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham and Tiffin, who rose one spot in the latest national rankings, will compete in four events.

Nikolas Curtiss is second in the nation in the shot put with a throw of 19.31 meters and he will be joined by Ralph Casper, who is 3rd overall with a put of 18.78.

Lloyd McCurdy is also 2nd in the country in the triple jump, making the cut with a mark of 15.32 meters.

TU will also compete in the pole vault, as Collin Jasin is 6th nationally with a clearance of 5.12 meters.

Tiffin's final entrant will be Quincy Scott in the long jump. His mark of 7.32 meters is currently 9th nationally.

Curtiss is a five-time All American in the shot put, earning three of those honors during indoor competition. He finished 4th overall in 2019 after placing 10th in 2018, and had the second best throw in the nation last year before the championships were canceled due to Covid-19.

Scott is a two-time All American in the long jump, earning one honor in 2019 with a 7th place finish. He also had the 2nd best leap in the nation last year before the championships were canceled.

Jasin was an All American qualifier in the pole vault last season as well.
