Dragons rise to 7th in latest rankings

The USTFCCCA has released its latest Rating Index for Division II Men's Indoor Track & Field, and the Tiffin men rose four spots to the No. 7 spot.

Colorado Mines sits at No. 1, followed by Grand Valley State, Ashland, West Texas A&M, and Northwest Missouri. Findlay is the only other GMAC school in the top 25, coming in at No. 14 in the rankings. 

Tiffin has put up strong performances to date in the field events, posting three of the top 5 shot putters in the country with Nikolas Curtiss (2nd 19.31 meters), Jabari Bennett (3rd 18.68m) and Ralph Casper (5th 18.28m) standing out. Also in 16th was Benedict Draghi with 16.77 meters while also placing 19th in the weight throw. Jacob McPherson (22nd) and Casper (23rd) also have performed well in the weight throw. 

Lloyd McCurdy leads the nation in the triple jump with 15.32 meters, while Quincy Scott added depth to the field events, coming in at No. 7 in the country in the long jump along with teammate Collin Jasin jumping to 9th in the Pole Vault with 4.95 meters. 

Nathaneal Wilson comes in at No. 10 in the 60-meter hurdles, while Elijah Gauldin is 10th in the 60. The DMR squad is also 19th overall.

The next competition for the men is at the GMAC Championships Feb. 26-27.
