Dragons make mark in national rankings

Tiffin University's men's tennis team has made its mark in the national rankings.

The Dragons finished the year ranked 26th in Division II following their 20-3 season. They were the G-MAC regular season and tournament champions and qualifed for the NCAA regional tournament for the second consecutive year. 

Ruben Fonga also was ranked 9th in the singles rankings. Fonga, who was ranked as high as 2nd in the nation in the ITA singles rankings, posted an 22-2 singles record along with a 15-7 doubles mark this season. He is also a two-time First Team All G-MAC selection.

Michael Gurtner/Matthew Telford were positioned 40th in the doubles standings. They posted a 14-4 doubles record in 2023. Gurtner is a three-time All G-MAC pick, while Telford has earned two honors.

Overall the men's team placed 5th in the Midwest Region.
